Mobile LMS: GOOGLE vs Everyone Else

Week Overview

This week you will explore Mobile Learning Management Systems, or Mobile LMS.  We ask that, if possible, you do all of this week’s reading & activities from your SmartPhone or Tablet.  You will be moving between 2 different platforms, so think about which one is providing the better mobile learning experience.

There are 3 sections to our website.  Each one has material to review and then a discussion question to follow.  Please try to complete part 1 (Is the LMS Dead) by Tuesday, part 2 (the Mobile LMS) by Thursday and part 3 (Google vs Everyone Else) by Saturday.

You can find all of the material to review on this site, and all of the weeks' activities will be carried out in Google classroom.  Google Classroom may require you to download the free Google apps, especially Google classroom. See the videos below if you are unsure how to log in or download the free apps.

You will need to sign in to Google Classroom and provide the class code: hdotx30

ABOUT US

My week in London has come to an end - T

Hi, I'm Katie! I am a primary PE teacher in Kamloops, BC where I live with my husband Josh and our dog Finn. I've always been interested in technology devices and tools and the possibilities they create in the world of education. Mobile devices have recently sparked my interest as they hold great potential for teachers and learners everywhere, anytime with very few limiting factors. I am looking forward to exploring and sharing more about the topic of mobile technology with all of you.

Hi I'm Lori (Jonesy to most). I am a Secondary Digital Arts, Computer Science and TV Production teacher. I started programming on a TRS-80 computer and have been hooked ever since. Mobile technology has taking my teaching to new heights. I can't wait to share what we have found.

Hi, I'm Jan.  I teach accounting and career studies at an independent school in Hamilton, ON where I am helping the school develop in house e-learning opportunities for our students.  I also coach Model United Nations and volunteer on the Finance Committee for the board of the E-Learning Consortium of Canada.
